Children created stop frame animations based around the book ‘Dinosaurs and all that rubbish’ (Michael Foreman). Each group used Kudlian’s ‘I Can Animate’ on a laptop together with Lumens DC120 Visualizer. One they had created the animation, they used the free Audacity software to record and edit speech and sound effects and then Microsoft Movie Maker on Windows 7 to edit the sound and the video together. The whole process took quite a while, but included excellent opportunities for ‘jigsaw’ type group work (with each child having their own role), writing and ICT skills.
