‘Explain Everything’ iPad app used to tell a story

Explain Everything is an excellent iPad app that has huge potential in the classroom. The example here shows how it can be used as an alternative to stop frame animation. Although it can’t achieve some of the things which stop frame can (like animation of 3d objects such as lego), it’s brilliant for animation of drawn objects, and children can animate and record audio in real time, meaning the process is much faster. For this example, children had the task of retelling the story ‘Dinosaurs and all that Rubbish’ (Michael Foreman). You can compare the results of stop frame animation, retelling the same story here.
