My name is Jonathan Mitchell. I have been a primary school teacher since 1996 and have taught and led phases across Key Stage 1 and 2. I am currently employed at Winton Primary School in Bournemouth. I have always had a huge interest in how technology can enhance learning in the primary classroom. I currently teach computing from reception to year 6 and also spend much of my time using technology to enhance other curriculum areas, particularly English and mathematics.

I am a CAS master teacher attached to the South Coast Hub and spend one day per week engaged in consultancy and INSET.

My current areas of expertise are:

• Use of iPads in the classroom
• Use of blogging and other resources to enhance writing
• Delivery of the new computing curriculum, particularly the use of Scratch
• Design and construction of school websites – particularly with a ‘news’ focus
